ŌKU was formed by Scott & Helen out of the desire to harness the power of native plants. Their product range helps people rediscover and experience the amazing properties held within New Zealand’s ngahere (forests).
Many of the plants in ŌKU’s formulas have a rich history of traditional use. While Kawakawa is certainly one of their favourites, they use many other natives, as well as more traditional herbs to support, complement, and amplify the effects of these natives.
ŌKU keeps sustainability front and center of their Kaupapa (purpose), from how they harvest the rākau (plants) to the product packaging, and how they run day-to-day business.
Qualified Naturopath, Patricia, has been captivated by health since she was a child, applying all of the knowledge she came across in nutrition and herbal books.
Impressed by the wonderful results, she later went on to study a Bachelor's Degree in Naturopathy & Nutritional Medicine at Endeavour College of Natural Health.
