Description
Carob, or Ceratonia siliqua, is also known as Locust Bean, St. John’s Bread, and Carob Tree. The carob is a tree in the same plant family as beans and peas.
It is the pod that is eaten and although raw Carob does have a rather unexpected smell, it tastes deliciously sweet!
Can be consumed straight out of the bag as a healthy snack food, added to smoothies, used in baking or blended through teas.
