Description

Chia seeds are the edible seeds of Salvia hispanica, a flowering plant in the mint family native to Central America.

This concentrated food contains healthy omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fibre, antioxidants, and calcium. When eaten dry, chia seeds taste a bit like poppy seed; dense, small and crunchy. Soaked chia absorbs liquid and becomes plump, sweet and soft like tapioca pearls.
