Description
Our Wildcrafted Mesquite Powder (Prosopis pallida) is a finely milled botanical powder produced from wild harvested mesquite pods collected from the dry forest ecosystems of northern Peru, specifically the coastal desert regions between Chiclayo and Piura (Lambayeque and Piura departments).
This mesquite is not cultivated. The trees grow naturally in arid environments where they have thrived for centuries without agricultural intervention. No pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers, or agricultural chemicals are used. The remote dry forest regions where the mesquite grows are far removed from industrial agriculture and chemical exposure.
Harvesting is carried out by local communities using traditional hand collection methods, with pods gathered from the ground or carefully picked directly from the trees. These practices have been passed down through generations and support sustainable land stewardship and local livelihoods.
Once collected, the pods are dried and milled into a fine, natural powder with a characteristic warm, subtly sweet profile often described as malty, caramel like, and gently nutty. Mesquite powder is valued as a versatile ingredient in food, beverage, and wellness formulations where naturally sourced plant materials are required.
This product contains no fillers or anti caking agents. As a result, natural clumping may occur due to moisture absorption. This is a normal characteristic of pure botanical powders and does not affect quality. Any clumps can be easily broken apart prior to use.
